You can help make a difference in moving the Conservation Common Agenda forward this year by making “Home Visits” in or near your district. Sign up for an appointment to get to know your local Representative and Senator.

What's it all about? More than anything else, local “Home Visits” are about relationship building. Your being there expresses your concern. Your job is to listen. We want our elected officials to understand our position, but we also want to better understand them and their point of view. “Home Visits” are opportunities for you to chat and get to know your Representative or Senator. It’s a totally different dynamic from lobbying at the State House and we can’t do it without you.

What do I need to know? Prior to your visit we will bring you up to date on the issues. Where possible, we will send our conservation lobbyists and experts to accompany you and we will recruit others from the local conservation community to join you for the calls. We do not expect you to be an expert but we do expect you to report back what you hear.

Where do I sign? To join a “Home Visit” Team, send an email to Debbie Parker at debbie@conservationvotersofsc.org. In your email include 1) the names of your House and Senate members and 2) your physical home address. We will make the appointment with your legislators for you. If you don't know who your legislators are, you can find out on the SC State House website.
