Our Mission:
Conservation Voters of South Carolina Education Fund is dedicated to maximizing the participation of conservation-minded citizens in environmental public policy decisions made at the state and local levels.
Conservation Voters Education Fund is a statewide, nonprofit, 501(c)3
public charily, governed by a six member Board of Directors.
It is the sister
organization of Conservation Voters of South Carolina sharing staff and office space.
South Carolina is faced with many environmental challenges. These
challenges include addressing the threat of global climate change and
securing enough clean abundant water for our communities. We are also
challenged to build more sustainable communities and make more
deliberate decisions about conserving our historic natural spaces.
Addressing these challenges requires greater public awareness and
participation. Conservation Voters Education Fund believes
education is the key to engaging the public and elected leaders to meet
these environmental public policy challenges.
Since 2004, Conservation Voters Education Fund has hosted the
Conservation Common Agenda. The Common Agenda uses a consensus approach
to setting annual Legislative Priorities supported by 27 statewide
conservation organizations representing over 40,000 members.
Conservation Voters Education Fund publishes educational tools and
hosts regional projects to better inform decision makers and the public
about state and local environmental issues.
